We have developed proprietary methods for making tablets out of
spray-dried aphrons (SDD) or capsules containing SDD or liquid drug
loaded polyaphron dispersions for oral delivery.
For oil-containing capsules, our technologies provide an
alternative to conventional SEDDS for the delivery of drugs in soft
or hard capsules.
Our oral PAD solutions have the advantage that they can deliver
oil-soluble drugs in solution, rather than as a crystalline solid.
In addition they contain much lower levels of surfactant than known
alternatives (less than 2% compared to 30 - 40% in typical SEDDS
formulations) thereby reducing the risk of discomfort.
The oil soluble drug is released within the gastro-intestinal
tract in a water-dispersible form thus promoting absorption and
more precise delivery.
